A team of air traffic control students from Airservices Australia visited the Aviation Industry Training Centre (AITC) earlier this month to get a first-hand look at the AITC's Boeing 737 training aircraft.
Rowan Wigmore from the Learning Academy at Airservices Australia said the students were thrilled to have the opportunity to see the aircraft and gain a greater understanding of the aviation industry.
"All of the students had an interesting afternoon and their classroom studies in aviation subjects were greatly reinforced by the knowledgeable and practical demonstrations," he said.
"I could have stayed another three hours and feedback from the visit was unanimously positive. I am proposing to my manager that we include the visit as part of our aviation curriculum."
The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, saying that it was "fantastic to walk around and see parts of an aircraft up close", and that it was an "excellent excursion to complete our understanding of principles of flight".
