KI Online launches its latest Brazilian trainees

A Brazilian aviation engineering crew is the latest international addition to Virgin Tech's flexible aviation induction training offered through Kangan Institute's Learning Management System "KI Online".

The crew, from South American aircraft manufacturing giant Embraer - one of the world's largest companies of its type - is completing induction training via Virgin Tech.

Virgin Tech, the technical arm of Virgin Blue, has utilised KI Online for several years as a cost-effective system to manage online learning and assessment, compile detailed usage statistics and deliver compliance-based training - all in a flexible and reliable digital environment.

Bill Rees, from Kangan Institute, says that Virgin Tech was looking for an effective solution to ensure Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs) are trained both quickly and comprehensively.

"There are a number of instances when LAMEs are required to complete specific training before being legally permitted to commence any work on certain types of aircraft," Bill says.

"New LAMEs may be required to enrol and use the KI Online system on very short notice, sometimes virtually as the plane is landing," he says, "KI Online consistently provides an effective level of training in a very competitive timeframe."

Virgin Tech has a high level of access within the system which allows them to easily modify, develop and design all course materials for use by any enrolled engineer. This flexibility allows for a dynamic course structure that remains current in an industry renowned for its fast pace.
